AFFN Industry: An Old Movie in a Modern Cinema?

Bringing classic and archival films to contemporary audiences is the dream and goal of every distributor, including the Association of Czech Film Clubs. However, the response isn’t always the best. It turns out that it’s up to each cinema manager to deal with this situation in their own way. We invited Jiří Flígl, manager of the Aero and Oko cinemas in Prague, which frequently screen archival films with great success. He doesn’t rely on distributors and often selects the films he wants to screen himself. Why did he choose this strategy, and how does he attract audiences and build a community around archival content?
