Awakening
Probuzení / Jiří Krejčík / Czechoslovakia 1959 / 97 min. / HD file
Awakening was originally made as a campaign against the troubled youth in 1956. Fortunately, the original theme of one of the most engaged Czechoslovak screenwriters of the 1940s and 1950s, Otakar Kirchner (Steel Town, 1950; DS-70 Does Not Move Off, 1949; Action B, 1947),was taken up by Jiří Krejčík who, despite a number of creative compromises, turned it into a remarkable social-psychological film.
