Men about Town

Zdeněk Podskalský / Czechoslovakia 1969 / 99 min. / HD file
Legendary Men about Town still entertains viewers – it criticizes hypocrisy and makes fun of those who pretend to be someone they are not. The screenplay by Vratislav Blažek shows the decline of social morals in the story of three village workers during the communist era. The film was created in the shadow of the Soviet occupation and contains a number of one-liners that would not have passed the censors‘ scrutiny under normalization.
