Yakha is an unrestrained young girl and a bit of a nuisance in the traditional patriarchal society. Her playful and vagrant life is soon to be interrupted by unwelcomed adulthood with the only prospects for an arranged dead-end marriage. This highly sensitive, soulful and poetic story about freedom was the first Chechen-language film screened at international film festivals.
