The Ear

Karel Kachyňa / Czechoslovakia 1970 / 94 min. / HD file
The Ear by the creative duo Kachyňa-Procházka originated at the very end of the relaxed 1960s – due to a clear critique of the party apparatus, it immediately found itself in the vault. There was a twenty year waiting time for the premiere. The nervous thriller about the espionage practices of the then regime is completely dominated by unforgettable performances of the central acting duo. This is the last Czech film to be presented in the main competition of the Cannes Film Festival.
