There are films that should have never seen the light of day. And then there are those that were made at the wrong time. As far as the topic of the Prague Uprising is concerned, Vávra’s film The Liberation of Prague definitely belongs to the first category. Oddly enough, it has been more widely acknowledged among the public than Procházka‘s and Novák’s project called The Marathon.
