A parable by Věra Chytilová, which, like her cult film Daisies (1966), was made in collaboration with Jaroslav Kučera and Ester Krumbachová. The allegorical film combining biblical attributes with a crime story relies heavily on stylized acting, experimental form and Zdeněk Liška’s pregnant musical structures.
