Andrzej Wajda / Poland 2016 / 100 min. / DCP
The last work by the legend of Polish cinema Andrzej Wajda sums up his life-long creative and intellectual journey. In the biopic of the avant-garde painter Władysław Strzemiński, he depicts the struggle for spiritual freedom for which one sometimes has to pay with the physical extermination of himself. This precise film clearly reflects Wajda’s long-time experience.
