Akira Kurosawa as an Author

90 min.
This lecture will introduce Akira Kurosawa and his works that strongly influenced world cinema. Kurosawa made many stylistic and narrative experiments, he transformed the elements of genre films (westerns in particular) and brought new adaptations of world’s classic books. He synthesised the methods of traditional Japanese art, avant-garde movies or classic American film genres but was still able to create attractive movies of various genres full of romantic characters.
