The biographical drama Charlatan follows the character of the healer Jan Mikolášek. The producers decided to approach the renowned director Agnieszka Holland, who regularly strengthens ties with the Czech Republic – her miniseries Burning Bush (2013) won 11 Czech Lions. With a similar creative team, she created a film screened at the last year’s Berlinale.
