FAMU Films History: Merta & Smyczek

Vladimír Merta and Karel Smyczek started to study film direction at FAMU in the same year in 1970. At that time, political cleansing started to penetrate into the pedagogical staff. The two filmmakers were bound by friendship and extraordinary talent. They even chose the same subject for their graduate movies. However, their lives took dramatically different paths after studies.
