FAMU History: Female filmmakers of the 1950s and 1960s

With a few notable exceptions, such as Věra Chytilová or Agnieszka Holland, we associate FAMU’s early history with men. They founded FAMU, led the school, and shaped its cultural and political identity. They formed the majority both among the teaching staff and among students. Let’s take a look at the school’s history through the films made by its female students. Are these films different? And if so, in what way?
