Hope

Naděje / Karel Kachyňa / CSR 1963 / 88 min. / HD file
Millions of ordinary people all over the world turned to socialist and communist ideologies as they hoped for a better life. In the early days, they could be in the centre of artists’ interest, but the Communist regime soon left these people out in the cold. Propaganda posters beat reality. That’s something which best epitomises the difference between realism and socialist realism.
