After directing The Deadly Invention and The Stolen Airship, Zeman returned to the fabulous world of Jules Verne and adapted one of his lesser-known novels, Off On A Comet Or Hector Servadac. Together with Jan Procházka, they wanted to make an innocent fairy tale about unflagging hope, but the turbulent times were not on their side.
