Petr Hruška: Spatřil jsem svou tvář (I Spied My Face)

On 8 September 1522, after a three-year-long voyage “the last wretched ship of the great Magellan’s fleet / carrying tons of cloves, / eighteen men / and the news / that the Earth has no edges, neither the resting place” arrived in Seville. Five hundred years later to the day, came out a book partly inspired by the first circumnavigation of the globe.
