Summer School, 2001
Kien spends the summer of 2001 at the Cheb marketplace trying to bond with his Vietnamese family he barely knows. He has to deal with the language barrier, cultural differences and tensions at home. Dužan Duong made the first Czech “viet-film”, Summer School, 2001, about growing up between two worlds, and how hard it is when you feel you don’t belong anywhere.
