mujRozhlas.cz: GHOSTS – Fear and Loathing in Uherské Hradiště

The Ghost series explores occultism, folklore, myths, and legends through the lens of ethnography, Czech studies, and memories of the authors who love to get scared. This time, they will talk to film historian Aleš Říman about fear, revulsion, and horror in film. In the first series, the authors discussed occultism with Petr Kalač from the Documentation Center of Czech Hermeticism and with modern mystic Petr Stančík. They talked about water goblins with Pavel Šidák, and about castle ghosts with the tour guides and castle wardens of Kašperk Castle and Svojanov Castle. They explored devils at Houska Castle with Karel Müller from Pastoral Brothers, ethnographer Libor Dušek, Rabbi David Maxa and member of the Church of Satan Libor Hejtmánek. Writer Radim Kopáč talked about executions and fear in literature, ethnographer Libor Dušek discussed spiritualism in the Krkonoše Mountains, and tour guide Pavla Benettová described the alchemist laboratories in Český Krumlov. Finally, the girls explored the work of their favourite author, K. J. Erben, with Stanislav Zajíček and Milan Lánský.
