Perhaps the most accurate description of the power and significance of the film Diamonds of the Night comes from the young Miloš Forman: “For me, the vast majority of films about fascism are gangster movies. Films about something that never happened the way it’s portrayed. In this respect, Diamonds of the Night are by far the most authentic film about what fascism actually is.”
