FAMU in 1989 (Panel Discussion)
What was life like for FAMU students in the revolutionary year of 1989? How did they perceive the changing moods in Czechoslovak society? And how were they involved in revolutionary events at their school or in the whole country? Weren’t they one of the most active revolutionaries and promoters of the changes that took place after 1989? What was broadcasted on Student TV and how did this project find its way to Czechoslovak Television in November 1989? All these questions will be answered in our panel discussion. We will begin with the screening of Petr Kotek’s documentary When, if not today, made in 1990, which captures the revolutionary year from students’ point of view, and continue with a discussion with Zdeněk Tyc and Petr Kotek who were one of the most active FAMU students in 1989.
