Hot TV: The Current Role of Television

It may seem that nobody watches TV today. But is it really true? Leaving aside the high TV ratings during crises, such as the covid pandemic, even in normal days, we watch TV more often than we might think. Over the last two decades, new players have entered the field (Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Disney+, etc.) and changed the definition of television. Can these platforms be considered as TV channels? Or is it something completely new?
