Masterclass with Zuzana Kronerová

This lady represents an intense humanity. She is always authentic, showing a wide range of emotions. She is careful about details and fully aware of the whole. She is charismatic and natural. For a long time, she had been in the shadow of her father, Jozef Kroner (who starred in the Oscar-winning film The Shop on the Main Street). Her first notable role was a naive and not very pretty forest worker in Juraj Jakubisko’s comedy Infidelity in a Slovak Way. However, it was Czech filmmakers who made her a film star after the collapse of the Czechoslovak federation. She was often cast by Bohdan Sláma (Wild Bees, Something Like Happiness, Ice Mother, Shadow Country) or by other directors, portraying hot-blooded characters, whether strong, weak or manipulative ones (Habermann’s Mill, Home Care).
