The Nun´s Night

Noc nevěsty / Karel Kachyňa / CSR 1967 / 89 min. / HD file
The 1966 publication of Jan Procházka’s balladic novella The Nun’s Night marked a very important moment in national literature. Procházka’s book provoked with its open pronouncement about the tragic disintegration of Czechoslovak countryside during the 1950s. At the same time, it had indisputably been his finest prosaic work so far.
